This study was designed to determine the effects of various dietary Aztec marigold carotenoid concentrations on the skin pigmentation of tilapia. Three pigmented diets containing carotenoid at concentrations of 50,100 and 250 mg/kg diet. The control group was fed with a non-pigmented diet exclusively. The best strategy for pigmentation was to feed the tilapia with a diet containing astaxanthin (Carophyll Pink) at 50 mg/kg for 60 days.
